There are new things in 2016 for Beaverdale Farmers Market, such as two colors of tee shirts (thanks to T-Shirt Graphix) and posters, which are appearing at your favorite spots in the neighborhood.
The biggest change this year is the market site, on Urbandale Avenue near the Beaverdale shopping district. Nearly 40 vendors will set up shop in this new location when the market opens on Tuesday, June 7. Vendors will be on either side of Urbandale Avenue from Beaver Avenue to 42nd Street. Some vendors and the market information booth will be in the grassy median in front of Acanthus Lodge (4133 Urbandale Ave.)
Children’s activities will be in another median. Market hours remain from 4:30-7:30 p.m. through September 13.
Musical acts will be on the street space west of Acanthus Lodge, and tables and chairs will be arranged there for shoppers to relax, visit and listen to music. Musicians and vendors are on our website’s Music & Activities Calendar and List of Vendors.
Acanthus Lodge and Holy Trinity Church have generously made their parking lots available to market visitors. Visitors can enter and exit the parking lots at Beaver Avenue. Barricades will be in place starting at 3:00 p.m. on market days to block Urbandale at Beaver Ave. and at 42nd St. so vendors can set up. Residents will still have access, and an emergency lane is always open.
