The Beaverdale Farmers Market joins former Iowa Governor and current Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack in celebrating National Farmers Market Week the first week of August.
Media outlets are invited to broadcast from the Beaverdale Farmers Market on Tuesday, August 5 to provider viewers with an inside look at a Farmers Market. Market vendors and farmers will be available to talk about their experiences as small farmers in central Iowa. Additionally, Beaverdale Farmers Market volunteer board members will be available to talk about how this relatively new farmers market has grown and thrived in the heart of Des Moines since its first season in 2012.
“Iowans want access to fresh, local food,” said Beaverdale Farmers Market President Ken Camling. “They want to know where their food came from, how it was grown, and to shake the hand of the farmer who grew it. We provide that opportunity every week at the Beaverdale Farmers Market in a setting that brings the neighborhood together to enjoy food, music, and friends right in their own backyard.”
Visit the Beaverdale Farmers Market every Tuesday through September 16 from 4:30 – 7:30 PM at 3422 Beaver Avenue.
