A May snowfall and a cool June delayed harvest of a great variety of Iowa produce. Vendors hand select fresh produce for opening day: asparagus, spinach, kale and onions, and will have more each week. Prepared food vendors are using fresh ingredients, such as the Local Yocals’ garnishes from Grade A Gardens. Can’t wait for the first sun-ripened tomato! See an Iowa harvest calendar online.
The first day of summer is not officially until June 21st. The best fresh produce is yet to come! Every week we will see more of what makes Iowa the place to be for fresh produce. Join us tomorrow evening!
